APPLICATION AND DESCRIPTION

EIB cable connects sensors and actuators in building control systems for lighting, blinds, heating and ventilation. This range offers a one-quad construction and a two-pair construction. Both use PE-insulated copper cores, aluminium/polyester foil screening and a green low-smoke halogen-free outer sheath.

KEY FEATURES

  • 0.8 mm plain copper conductors with white, yellow, red and black insulation.

  • Foil screening with a drain wire in each construction.

  • One-quad and two-pair options for the specified building wiring arrangement.

SELECTION NOTES

Choose the core arrangement to match the system wiring plan and terminals. Keep the distinction between fixed-service and installation temperatures: −20°C to +70°C in fixed service, and −5°C to +50°C during installation. Outdoor routing described for this range requires protection from direct sunlight.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the available core arrangements?

Four cores twisted as one quad, or four cores twisted into two pairs and laid up together.

Does 0.8 mm describe the conductor area?

It describes conductor diameter. The construction lists 0.8 mm plain copper conductors.

What screening and sheath are used?

Aluminium/polyester foil screening and a green low-smoke halogen-free outer sheath.

Do the drain wires differ between versions?

The one-quad version lists a solid copper drain wire; the two-pair version lists a stranded tinned copper drain wire.

What laying bend radius is specified?

Both constructions specify a minimum laying bend radius of 10 times the overall cable diameter.
